The negatives - the gameplay, combat, UI, featureset are all very dated. People like to play online to trade gear they find. It’s extremely atmospheric and the levels are great to explore and get immersed in. The fun comes from finding good gear and slowly levelling up your character. In D2 there is basically none of those gameplay elements I just highlighted above - you basically just play the campaign 3 times at 3 different difficulties and/or replay the same levels/bosses over and over again, to get better gear so that you can play those levels and bosses easier. Also once you get to a certain level of power, you can clear the highest difficulties, you have the gear you want and you’re pushing decently Greater Grifts, it’s a bit boring and there isn’t much reason to keep playing until the new season comes around.ĭiablo 2 is a very different game and offers a completely different type of fun to D3. Need a certain item for your build? Just play for another hour and you’ll have 3 of them. You get flooded with so much good gear that it’s meaningless. The negatives - the graphics and atmosphere are quite a bit more cartoony and less brutal and gritty compared to the first two games in the series. The UI, featureset and overall presentation are all modern and extremely accessible. Done by tweaking and upgrading the right type of gear and the right type of gems. it’s endgame is all about the push - clearing rifts at the highest difficulties as quickly as possible. Campaign, many difficulties to progress through, challenges, bounties, events, rifts, seasons with achievements and unique gameplay changes, etc. Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade Threadĭiablo 3 is extremely fun from the get go, you start leveling, can play around with various skills and abilities at will to suit your desired play style and has a whole bunch of different things to do.
